Smartphone Experts started in 2004 with an inventory of just 20 products housed in a backyard shed. In the next three years, the business grew a jaw-dropping 2,600 percent, and its inventory of smart phone accessories swelled.A new building took care of the space challenge—logistics took the business to the next level.
"With a business that moves as quickly as ours does, logistics was really the enabler for both managing and capitalizing on the growth opportunities we had," says Diane Kingree, the company’s vice president.
Soon Smartphone Experts was able to import large batches of products and accessories from China with fewer delays, relying on UPS customs brokerage services to ensure goods clear hurdles smoothly. "We were able to obtain the product much faster rather than having it sit on a boat," says Kingree. "It also gave us the confidence to export to new markets."
